Getting Started

What is Loopsy?
Loopsy is a fashion app built on giving, not selling. Upload clothes you no longer wear, earn credits when someone receives them, and use those credits to receive items from others nearby. No prices, no profits — just neighbors sharing what they love.
How is Loopsy different from Vinted or Depop?
On Vinted and Depop, you sell clothes for money. On Loopsy, you give them away and receive others' items in return. There are no prices, no negotiations, no shipping fees to calculate. It's a circular economy built on community, not commerce.
When does Loopsy launch?
We're launching in Bucharest in May 2025. Join the waitlist to be among the first to know when we go live and get early access to upload your items.

Credits & How It Works

How do credits work?
Earning credits: Upload an item. When someone matches with it and receives it (confirmed delivery), you earn 1 credit.

Using credits: Browse items nearby. When you find something you love, use 1 credit to receive it.

Give 1 item → Earn 1 credit → Receive 1 item. The loop continues.
Do credits expire?
Giver credits (earned from donations): NEVER expire. Keep them as long as you want.

Membership items (paid tiers): Unused monthly items don't roll over to the next month. Use them or lose them.
What if I don't have items to donate yet?
No problem! You can join as an Explorer, Neighbor, or Neighbor Plus member to get instant items each month. When you're ready to donate, you can switch to being a Giver — or do both.
Can I give items AND have a paid membership?
Absolutely! You can be both. Donate items to earn credits that never expire, and also pay for a membership to get instant items each month plus premium features like outfit matching.

Delivery & Logistics

How does delivery work?
You have two options:
  • Meet in person — Agree on a safe public location. Zero delivery cost.
  • Use courier — We generate an AWB (shipping label) through our partner courier. Cost is ~15 RON / €3 per item, paid by the receiver.
Both giver and receiver decide together which method works best.
Who pays for delivery?
The receiver always pays delivery. Givers give freely — they shouldn't have to pay to send items away. If you meet in person, there's no cost at all.
What if I'm receiving multiple items from the same person?
They're automatically bundled into one delivery — one AWB, one courier fee, less waste. This is available for everyone, always. Sustainability is the default, not a premium feature.

Matching & Features

What's the difference between Item Matching and Style Intelligence?
Item Matching (Neighbor tier): When you receive an item, we suggest up to 3 nearby items that work with it based on color theory, style, and formality. Rules-based, instant results.

Style Intelligence (Neighbor Plus tier): AI learns YOUR personal taste over time — your color preferences, the styles you keep, what you pass on. Up to 5 suggestions tailored specifically to your wardrobe. Gets smarter every month.
What's the extended radius feature?
Standard (Giver, Explorer, Neighbor): Browse items within 15km.
Extended (Neighbor Plus): Browse up to 30km — double the radius, still feels local and community-focused.
What are outfit collections?
Collections let you save and organize items into outfits or themes (e.g., "Work outfits", "Summer vacation", "Date night"). Different tiers give you different numbers of active collections:
  • Giver & Explorer: 1 collection
  • Neighbor: 3 collections
  • Neighbor Plus: Unlimited collections

Pricing & Memberships

How much does Loopsy cost?
Giver: FREE forever. Donate items, earn credits, receive items, unlock features by giving more.

Paid memberships (for instant items):
  • Explorer: €9/month (≈45 RON) — 2 items/month
  • Neighbor: €19/month (≈95 RON) — 10 items/month + item matching
  • Neighbor Plus: €29/month (≈145 RON) — 10 items/month + Style Intelligence + extended radius + AI features
Why are prices in EUR if I'm in Romania?
Loopsy is a pan-European platform. Prices are set in EUR for consistency across countries. Romanian users are charged in RON at current exchange rates through Stripe (our payment processor). You'll see both EUR and RON conversion on the pricing page.
Can I cancel my membership anytime?
Yes! Cancel anytime with no penalties. Your membership remains active until the end of your current billing period. Any unused items from that month don't roll over, but any credits you earned from donations stay with you forever.

Safety & Trust

How do you prevent fraud or people taking advantage?
Several layers of protection:
  • Credits are pending until delivery is confirmed. You don't earn a credit just for uploading — someone has to actually receive it.
  • Photo verification: Items must have clear photos. Misleading photos get flagged.
  • Community reporting: Users can report issues. Repeated violations result in account suspension.
  • Delivery confirmation: Both parties confirm the handoff or courier delivery.
Is it safe to meet in person?
Always meet in safe, public locations — cafés, shopping centers, public transit stations. Never give out your home address until you're comfortable. Most exchanges happen quickly and in busy areas during daytime.
What if I receive something that's not as described?
You can report the issue before confirming delivery. If the item is significantly different from the photos or description, we'll investigate and can reverse the credit transaction. Repeated offenders are removed from the platform.

Coverage & Expansion

Where is Loopsy available?
We're launching in Bucharest in May 2025. After we prove the model works, we'll expand to other Romanian cities, then to neighboring countries. Join the waitlist to be notified when we launch in your city.
Will Loopsy expand to other countries?
Yes! Our vision is to bring Loopsy across Europe and beyond. We're starting in Romania to build the community locally, then we'll expand city by city. The app will support multiple languages and currencies as we grow.
